The Charismatic Renewal Service of Boston put on another great conference on September 13th. Charismatic Renewal Service of the Boston Archdiocese is made up of prayer groups from 8 different ethnic communities. All those communities come together a few times a year to praise and worship the Lord. The annual conference is one of those times.
As we gathered at Boston College High School on a bright Saturday morning, we enjoyed conversation and a light breakfast served by Manuel Figeroa and the Hispanic Community.
It is great to see everyone praising and worshiping our one true king together. At the opening of the conference, there was live music, singing, and dancing. It was beautiful. During this time of praise and worship, the praise leaders invited Mary to be a part of the conference and to watch over the conference. A prayer group woman dressed as Mary symbolized Mary’s presence at the conference. Music for the day was provided by the Hispanic, Anglo, and Brazilian communities who were coordinated by CRS-Boston Music Director Roque Peña.
After praise and worship, we split into two language tracks for the English-speaking and the Spanish-speaking communities. The English track speaker was Rev. Deacon Ralph Poyo from Texas. Rev. Father Germán Gándara from Columbia led the Spanish-language track. Both speakers were incredible.
After two talks in the morning, we broke for lunch and had a wonderfully catered meal by Guido Quesada, Enrique Mendez, and the Hispanic Community. Everyone really enjoyed the food and talking with others at lunch.
After lunch, there was a healing service centered on Eucharistic Adoration. Rev. Father Augustine O. Odinkalu led the healing service. It was terrific and so filled with the Holy Spirit as Father Augustine elevated the Eucharist.
After this, we were evangelized by another talk in our language tracks.
Then we gathered for the closing Mass. His Excellency Archbishop Richard Henning, along with several other priests and deacons, presided. The Mass was said in both English and Spanish. The Prayers of Petition were said in multiple languages representing all the CRS-Boston ethnic prayer groups.
At the end of the Mass, His Excellency Archbishop Richard Henning asked us all if we would sing Happy Birthday to Pope Leo XIV because it was his birthday the next day. When he finished the final blessing, but before the final song, the Archbishop and all the other priests and deacons came down from the altar and joined us. His Excellency started off with a message to our Holy Father, and then we all sang Happy Birthday. It was wonderful. You can CLICK HERE to watch that message. Please join us next year for another amazing conference.
