 ont-size: 14pt;">CHARIS, through the Commission for Christian Unity, is org
 anizing a Pentecost Ecumenical Vigil: Saturday, May 22, 2021, 22:00 (Rome t
 ime).</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">This online Vigil will ta
 ke place live from 4 iconic locations around the world: we will begin in Ro
 me and end in Jerusalem, via Buenos Aires.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style="
 font-size: 14pt;">In each of these cities, we will be led in prayer by Chri
 stians of different Churches and communities. All together we will pray to 
 the Holy Spirit for a new Pentecost on the world. It will be an unforgettab
 le moment to be able to pray together as Jesus himself asked the Father for
  us (Jn 17,21).&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">We will h
 ave the joy to invoke the Holy Spirit in Jerusalem, the same city where the
  first Pentecost&nbsp;&nbsp;took place.</span></p><p><span style="font-size
 : 14pt;">We will also have other guests.</span></p><p><span style="font-siz
 e: 14pt;">Reserve your spot and spread the word around you! This will be an
  unforgettable event!</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Let us jo
 in with one another in preparing for Pentecost</span></p><p><span style="fo
 nt-size: 14pt;">As we are quickly approaching Easter, CHARIS is actively pr
 eparing the next Pentecost celebration.</span></p><p><span style="font-size
 : 14pt;">In this year in which we celebrate the 120th anniversary of the fi
 rst baptism in the Spirit in Topeka, Kansas, we invite all Christians that 
 wish to join us in invoking the Holy Spirit on the Church and the world.&nb
 sp;</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">We would like to remind you
  that in preparation for the first Pentecost, the disciples gathered and ‘A
 ll these devoted themselves with one accord to prayer, together with some w
 omen, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers’ (Acts 1:14).&nbsp;&nb
 sp;This is the unity that we propose to live by praying with one accord, kn
 owing that the Holy Spirit will not resist the pull of that communion of he
 arts.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">To this end, CHARIS has p
 repared two stages:</span></p><ol><li><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><stron
 g> A week of prayer</strong></span></li></ol><p><span style="font-size: 14p
 t;">scheduled from Sunday May 16th and Saturday May 22nd. We propose a pray
 er itinerary based on the Word of God. It is going to be a simple itinerary
 , which each of us is called to supplement as they wish according to the op
 portunities emerging in their daily lives. Every day it will be possible to
  meditate on a Biblical text concerning the Holy Spirit, to pray for the un
 ity of Christians and invoke the Holy Spirit.</span></p><p><span style="fon
 t-size: 14pt;">The present proposal will be available on the CHARIS website
 , as well as day by day on our Facebook and Instagram pages as we approach 
 Pentecost Day.</span></p><ol start="2"><li><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><
 strong> An Ecumenical Vigil&nbsp;</strong></span></li></ol><p><span style="
 font-size: 14pt;">scheduled for <strong>Saturday May 22nd (Rome time)</stro
 ng>, as a great moment of fully ecumenical prayer broadcast live from 4 cit
 ies in the world to invoke the Holy Spirit:</span></p><ul><li><span style="
 font-size: 14pt;">Rome, a prayer guided by the CHARIS National Service of C
 ommunion Italy,</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Topeka, an ec
 umenical prayer where the first baptism in the Spirit took place on January
  1st 1901,</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Buenos Aires with 
 CRECES (Comunión Renovada de Evangélicos y Católicos en el Espíritu Santo; 
 the Renewed Communion of Lutheran and Catholic Christians in the Holy Spiri
 t), the ecumenical group that Cardinal Bergoglio joined for a number of yea
 rs and had a prophetic role to play in the work done for the unity of Chris
 tians,</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Jerusalem, the city wh
 ere the first Pentecost took place, with a group of Christians including Me
 ssianic Jews.</span></li></ul><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">We are also
  going to have some special guests whose names will be announced soon.</spa
 n></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">This Vigil will be available in dif
 ferent languages and on various channels: Youtube, Facebook etc.&nbsp;</spa
 n></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Please immediately save this date i
 n your diaries: it is going to be a great moment of unity in prayer to resp
 ond to the wish expressed by Jesus himself: ‘so that they may all be one, a
 s you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, that th
