Greetings Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Christ is risen from the dead, Hallelujah! May the miracle of Easter bring you renewed hope, faith, love and joy!

Rom: 14:17: “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

Jesus describes joy as a manifestation of the kingdom of God and a sign of the Holy Spirit’s presence. What better time to speak about the gift of joy, especially, during this Easter season. We can celebrate the amazing love of the Father and His gift of righteousness (won by the death of Jesus), and peace and joy (gifts of the Holy Spirit.)  By Jesus’ death on the cross, He has wiped our sins away so that we can now stand before the Father pure and blameless and heaven is our inheritance. This is certainly a cause for rejoicing and lasting joy!

This year, the Golden Jubilee Year 2017, marks the joyful celebration of 50 years of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal. The upcoming 50th Anniversary commemorates the outpouring of the Holy Spirit amongst college students and professors on the Duquesne Weekend in February 1967 at The Ark and The Dove Retreat House near Pittsburgh, PA.

David Brooks was the coordinator, and about 30 retreatants attended. After a time of extended praise and worship, led by Vin Cerasuolo, Romanus Ajaero gave the keynote talk, exhorting all to return to their first love in this year of the Great Jubilee of Charismatic Renewal. Many gifts were manifested, especially tongues and prophecy and Fr. Mike McNamara presided at a closing Mass.

CRSB Multicultural Ministry Workshop “Unity within the Christian Familywas held on Saturday, March 25 at Pope John XXIII High School, Everett, MA. This CRSB multicultural event was sponsored in celebration of the Jubilee year 2017.  This Workshop Day consisted of 4 sessions of ministerial service and prayer sessions lead by the following people: Youth Ministry – Leila Andrade, Music Ministry – Roque Pena, Praying with Mary – Magalie Rowe, and Healing Ministry – Romanus Ajaero. The opening talk, “Unity within the Christian Family and Evangelization Outside to all”, was given by Enrique Mendez. It was a great day for collaboration of ministry ideas and to celebrate unity among our ethnic groups.

Healing Service was held on April 8, at the Most Blessed Sacrament Church in Quincy, MA. It was organized by Romanus Ajaero, head of the CRSB Healing Ministry. Praise and worship teams were led by Vin Cerasuolo and Anibal Gonzalez, and the opening remarks were given by Guido Quesada. Many came forward to receive a healing touch from the Lord.

Council Elections were held on Wednesday, May 3rd at the CRSB Leaders’ Assembly.  Our newly elected member to the council is Manuel Najarro who will be replacing Guido Quesada as a representative for the Hispanic Community.  Manuel is from St. Anthony’s prayer group in Everett and will be installed at the opening mass on Friday Sept. 8th at our Fall Conference. Please keep him in your prayers as we welcome him to the council.   We also want to extend our gratitude to Guido for his years of service to the council and to the Renewal.

Hispanic National Conference was held on April 28 and 29 and was hosted by the Hispanic Community of the Boston Renewal.  This conference was held in Medway and was a blessing to all.
